Installing WordPress MU

WordPress mu is stand for wordpress Multi User. This blog is not like a usual wordpress. This WordPress let user running more than one blog on one single wordpress installer. This blog is comfortable for a web hosting that want to provide a blogging service for its costumer.

You can download the wordpress MU at its official homepage. then you can go to the download section.

There are 2 file you can be downloaded from there. Nothing different from those 2 file. just if you are a windows user i suggest you to choose the download .zip rather than the download .tar.gz. Download.zip (arround 1100Kb) has bigger size than the .tar.gz (arround 980Kb) , but that’s ok.

After finished download the file just extract the file to your root directory. then open your browser, and run the installer. If you are running the installer at the http://localhost you maybe facing this problem like me

“Installing to http://localhost/ is not supported. Please use http://localhost.localdomain/ instead.”

This problem happen because wordpress MU must be well domain configured. so if you just want to testing your wordpress on localdomain, or your LAN, just add localhost.localdomain at your etc/hosts file
